ANALYSIS OF DATA
The chapter contains analysis of data collected through the questionnaire from Teachers and Students of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Greater Noida. Response of the study in analysed with reference to these two categories.

Table -6.1.1 reveals that 450 were distributed among teachers and students. A total of 200 were dully filled and received back although the response of all teachers and students was quite good, the highest response was recorded 58.2 for Teachers of DCE and 37.3 for students. The response of teachers were more than of the students.

Table -6.1.2 shows the branch wise response of the users. The highest response i.e. 52.7% was received from IT Branch followed by ECE Branch where the response was 51.1. The lowest percentage of response i.e. 36 was received from CSE Branch.

Table-6.2.1 indicates that purpose of visit the library for teachers the highest weighted average (i.e. 3.73) is for to study, followed by to get information (i.e. 3.22). Here the surprising fact is that the teachers come to read newspapers /business detail with weighted average (i.e. 2.48) in the library.

The students also access the internet in the market and other computer centres.

Table-6.6 shows the internet is primary used source for internet by the teachers and students of DCE, Greater Noida. The most frequently used source on internet in all the categories of respondents was recently E- Mail (51.5%) followed by Chat (48.0%) and Download File (43.0%). Interestingly, On Line Data Base Search was the least used sources of internet.

Table -6.7 reveals that more than half of the respondents need information either to keep themselves generally aware or for some Current Awareness. The largest number of students (64 out of 58) required information for their research project, most of the students responded in favors of research project.

Table-6.11.1 reveals that the frequency of use of library collection by teacher. The teachers most frequently visit the library for subject specific books, research journals and text books respectively. Other frequently used documents are review publications with weighted average of 3.66 and subject dictionaries with weighted average of 3.45 on a 4 point scale. The least frequently used sources are gazetteers with weighted average of 2.30 and manuscripts with weighted average of 2.36 which are nearer to rare use of these sources.

Table-6.11.2 reveals that the frequency of use of library collection by students. It is evident from the above table that subject specific book collection (W. A. 3.79) is the most frequently used by Students. It is followed by general books (W.A.3.74) and textbooks (W.A.3.64) respectively. On the other side, the least frequently used collection is review publications (W. A. 2.17) and manuscripts (W. A. 2.20). Interestingly, 9 respondents out of 21 replied that they never use an indexing journals while in case of abstracting journals 4 out of 17 are not using them at all.

No Journal was mentioned by more than 5 respondents. 56 journals were being used by 5 respondents each while 165 journals were mentioned by one respondent each. Table-6.14.3 deals with difficulties faced by teachers and students. Students in keeping themselves aware of current developments and obtaining required information. The most frequently encounter problem by teachers is inadequate resources in central library. While for students the most frequently faced problem is made quote review sources. The least frequently faced problem by the teachers is library rules/procedures while in case of students it is lack of financial support.
CHAPTER-7
FINDINGS, OBSERVATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS
On the basis of the survey conducted, an attempt has been made to highlight the structure, functions and services of college library, namely “DCE”. The survey conducted by the investigator brings to the light the facilities and services provided by the library. Some of these are worth mentioning here:
7.1 FINGINGS
On the basis of data analysis important findings are as bellows:
1. The response of teachers was more than of the students.
2. The highest percentage of response was received from IT branch in students and the lowest percentage of response was received from CSE Branch.
3. Purpose of visit the library teachers are to get only for information.
4. Most of the student’s purpose of visit the library is borrow /return /renew of books only.
5. Most frequently visit library the teacher and students for borrow /return /renew of books, secondly to meet the friends and the least frequently purpose of visit library teachers and students is to read newspapers/business details.
6. Frequency of availability of various facilities for teachers and students the highest area is for reading, lighting/ventilation and air condition is very good.
7. Highest percentages of E- Journals are available in CSE branch and lowest percentage of E- Journals availability is MCA branch.
8. The frequency of more access of internet by teachers in computer lab in comparison the library.
9. The students most frequently access of internet in the college library in comparison lab.
10. Most frequently of access internet by the teachers are in computer lab and the students frequently access of internet in the college library.
11. Internet is primary use the most frequently used source on internet in all the categories of respondents was recently E-mail, Chat, and Download file. On line data base search were the least used sources of internet.
12. Largest number of students required information for research project, most students responded in favor of research project.
13. The frequency of use of services of information by teachers. The weighted average of personal collection is highest followed by library services. Interestingly colleagues both from within and outside the colleges are the least used services for finding information.
14. The frequency of use of services of information by students the highest weighted average is for personal collection, followed by library services. Here the surprising fact is that teachers as a source of information is used least by the students.
15. Use of various sources of information by teachers and students. Most frequently use of personal collection, library services and colleague/classmate outside the college are one of the least used sources for information by both categories of users.
16. Most frequently used source of information for getting references in all the categories of respondents was recently read books/articles followed by with review article and printed I/A Journal. Interestingly services on CD-ROMs were the least used sources of getting references.
17. The respondents for searching their documents in the library. More than users search information themselves, some took help of the reference librarian for their required information.
18. Frequency of use of library collection by teacher. The teachers most frequently visit the library for subject specific books, research journals and text books respectively.

It is followed by general books and textbooks respectively. On the other side, the least frequently used collection used collection is review publications and manuscripts.
19. Frequency of use of library collection by the teachers and students. Subject specific books are the most frequently used collection by the teachers and students. The research journals are the second most frequently used collection by the teachers. The least used collection for teachers is gazetteers while students it is review publication.
20. More number of teachers and students think that collection of journal is good and less number of teachers and few students think that collection of journal is poor.
21. Respondents view about their efforts of keeping abreast developments in their field.
22. The most frequently encounter problem of information access by teacher is inadequate review sources and teaching workload.
23. The problems and difficulties faced by students. The students in keeping themselves up to date in their field. Lack of suitable review sources in the most frequently enumerated problem followed by the problem of variety of sources and inadequate library resources.

7.2 OBSERVATIONS
Observations are given below:
7.3 SUGGESTIONS
Suggestions are given below:
1. Library timings should be extending to 7.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m.
2. As results shows that no Institute is providing specified pay scale to its library staff which must be given.
3. Numbers of periodicals, Reference books and CDs database should be increased according to requirement.
4. Following services must be added
a) Process of Inter-Library Loan should be made more easy and less time consuming.
b) Book Bank service to Users.
d) Close Circuit Camera
5. There should be a close circuit camera for security purpose to check all activities in Library
6. Air Conditioning facility should be provided to Users.
7. Reading room should be open on Sunday and other holidays
8. Broad band Internet should introduce in the library.
9. The library is facing lack of space and library should have their separate buildings.
11. The number of systems must be increased because the available systems are not according to users requirements.
12. Library must organize Internet Training Programme for its Users.
13. Library should subscribe on -line Journals.
14. It has been observed that some users are not even aware of the major services provided by the library. So there should be a provision of display of library services on proper place for keeping the users aware. Some printed brochure could also be provided to make the users aware of library services.
15. Quality of library Services depends on the library staff. Thus library staff needs to be motivated to become helpful to users. Staff should be trained to serve the users as per requirement.
16. Library collection should be improved by acquiring the latest editions and international journals & publications. Audio-visual collection should also be improved.
17. Display racks should be in the user’s approach.
18. Some of the students grumble that course books are available in ample but relevant pages are found missing from the books. Therefore, there should be a strict check and punishment for this to prevent cutting & destroying of articles or photographs from the books and periodicals.
19. There should be proper vacuuming of the books in the library.
20. Library staff should try to keep the atmosphere of the library peaceful because sometimes it is observed that some users create disturbance in the library by ways of talking to each other and talking on phone.
21. Most of the students don’t have sufficient facilities for reading at home. They prefer to read in the library only. Thus library should remain open for long hours and in exam days this should also remain open on Sunday.
22. Teachers should also cooperate and set an example for students by returning library books on time.
23. In the college library hardly there is any person available to guide the users regarding the existing library resources to make their proper use.
24. The librarian has raised the point of lack of fund. No specific grant from Govt. has been provided to the library, because these are self finance organizations
25. In users’ opinion, there should be a suggestion box in the library so that their problems could reach to the librarian.
